Today, my heart is filled with hope and anticipation.

Sunsets are at 4.45pm, it's getting windy, winter is coming.
Few days back, I was chatting with Liying and Rachel and I casually took a photo of the view from my room only to have Rachel telling me the leaves are changing colour..
Here's a picture when I first settled in and a picture from few days back..
Seasons are changing, time is passing.
Seriously can't believe so much time has passed..
What have I been doing..?
Hmmm..
Mondays are cook-a-good-meal day and movie night with Yvonne (:
Tuesdays are end-school-early and skype day, ending off the day by going for Christian Union Hall Group meetings (: So glad to be part of this group, bible study sessions with them gives me new perspectives and the friends I've made are such lovely people (:
Wednesdays are off days so it's been shopping day (last Wed I studied at the library and I realllyy felt like I am a student here)
Thursdays are...... I don't know.. what have I been doing on thursdays other than going to school for lessons...? hmmmmmm
Fridays are supposed to be try-a-new-dish day but so far the only new dish I did on a Friday is pan-searing+baked salmon hehe..
Saturdays are exploring days with the nus peeps and Sundays are study and church day.. Just last saturday we went to Pentland Hills! Super pretty and breathtaking view (:
Any difference from the Junie that just arrived in Edinburgh on 6th Sept..?
I think being here alone without Mummy to take care of my meals and daily necessities make me think a lot more.. What grocery to buy, how long can I keep the meat for, how to spend my time(crazy lots of time on hand) etc. Somewhere, in the midst of learning how to make these decisions, I learned to depend on myself, learned to see things from Mummy's point of view when she has to buy things within budget (and make sure sure there's enough money for other things)..
I'm not quite sure how different I have become or will become, but I'm praying that as I continue my exchange journey, God will continue to show me different sides of me, to help me step out of my comfort zone and experience new things, and above all, mould me into the person He wants me to become (:
Blown away by Scotland's beauty~
hahaha

These waves of emotions are nothing but temporary;
these waves of emotions are swallowing mePOSTED BY Junie Ang ON Sunday, October 12, 2014 @ 7:07 PM
Yesterday marked my 8th week away from home;
another 3 more months till I'm going back to home and comfort
Cannot believe I've already been in Edinburgh for (almost) a month (:
Truly thank God for all the ups (dinners with nus peeps, chatting with flatmates, going for christian union hall group meetings) and downs (course conflicts, adjustments, homesickness) since I've got here (:
Coping pretty okay with studies..
Don't know if it's the right time but I'm actually putting quite a lot of effort (relative to past nus semesters) here and I'm quite liking studying here (:
Struggling with one of the core course I'm taking here but not flustered yet haha Prof Colin is really patient in answering my questions and I'm really thankful for that (:
I'm also getting used to having so much time on my hands...
Went on a big shopping trip yesterday hehe!
Much needed retail therapy after the stressful Monday and Tuesday(workshop on Monday didn't go well and I was stressing myself out on Tuesday)!
Also learning how to manage my finances heh....
Cooking is a major challenge for me..
I actually did not foresee myself cooking almost every dinner (thought I'll probably eat out) BUT the food here is so expensive!!
Had thai green curry once and it cost 9pounds which is equivalent to 18sgd........ (but it was good and made my tummy really happy)
Have been cooking really simple dishes like minced beef and broccoli, noodles etc
And my greatest accomplishment is probably cooking tom yum fried rice!! (': Was so proud of myself while eating it and of course I asked Mummy for help!
Thank God for Mummy!
Heading to Dublin for a weekend trip and I'm excited to travel again (:
Am probably too lazy to blog about the Europe travelling month already but I'm trying to update here regularly to record the time here meaningfully (:
Here's a pretty photo taken while on the Highlands Tour last weekend (:
And the nus peeps (;

Lying on the beach in Furio as I'm typing this! (260814)
Paris, France
Day 1 - 2
First time taking the plane alone! Wasn't sure of what to expect of the transit at Doha but thank God it went super smoothly! Checked in luggage was 29kg and I regretted packing so much the minute I collected it at Paris! Met Charmaine at the arrival terminal around 740am and we met a fellow Singaporean, Terry, who is going on exchange in Paris! He offered to give us a ride into city center but his friend wouldn't arrive until 945am (by then it was 845am) so we took the Roissy Bus! After around an hour of bus ride we arrived at the Opera!
We took really long (around 30mins, but it was pretty crazy lugging a 29kg luggage around) to figure out how to get to our accomm and almost took a cab but the cab driver directed us to the metro instead! Super yay!!! It was another 1 hour after we reached our station to get to our accomm because we didn't know how the numbering of houses worked in France. But yup, by 12pm we were at our accomm!
Rested abit and headed out to explore the city! Charmaine knows the place quite well so I pretty much followed her around Paris. The architecture in Paris is really pretty! But after awhile the buildings got really similar looking and it didn't get very impressive for me....
Had our first meal at a restaurant and it was yummehz (and pricey lol! Entire meal cost us around 60 euros!!)
Pork Liver, French Onion Soup (abit too salty for me), Veal Steak, Beef Tartar
Visited churches after churches and it's really crazy how much effort was put into building all these churches in the past! Really love the stained glass art which was everywhere in the churches (:
Just one of the many beautiful churches in Paris (:
We went to La-Fayette Shopping Mall on the second day and I lost 100 euros ): Silly me wanted to put money in my pocket so I didn't have to keep reaching for my wallet and it either got pickpocketed/dropped when I was taking out my phone.. *MAJOR SIGH* Was moody and all during lunch but still took some pics..
Salmon Burger, Escargots, Beef Tartar
Headed to Versailles after lunch and there was a crazy long queue! Waited around 1hour+ to get in!
It was interesting seeing history coming alive infront of me.. Really glad I took EU1101E 2 sems back! (:
Rushed back to Paris Centre after that to visit the Notre Dame church (last entry is 645pm!).
(Don't really want to post the interior of churches cos it may seem disrespectful)
Headed to the Eiffel Tower after that (spent 5 minutes there lol) and we bought chinese food for dinner! Was too hungry by the time we got back (9pm) so I just gobbled down my Curry Fried Rice without taking photo hehe!
In all, the architecture of the buildings and the churches are amazing in Paris but after awhile it just got a little too repetitive for me. But I feel like I spent too little time in Paris to discover more of its beauty though.. Definitely need to come back to visit the museums here (:

I long for reunion
The goal seems far and unreachable
But I cling onto God's promise and grace
That one day we will be healed from the hurt

Got a postcard from Janice last week!
Super love postcards!
Love how it means the sender chose the postcard for the receiver, and how the sender remembered the receiver even though they are miles away (:

This week is Academic Year 2013/2014 Semester 2 Week 11.
CRAZY!
So many things to do (which I volunteered or opted to do) but I just feel like I'm not doing them to the best of my abilities. Seeking God and praying for wisdom and strength to conquer this period!

This is the first time in a long while that I felt God telling me something and it felt so real I didn't have to doubt if it was from me.
I was at Fuse last night and the word suddenly appeared to me. Wow, mind-blown.
Although the meaning is still quite vague to me, I'm excited to see what God will do this year in my life and the people around me (:

So many things happened in 2013.
Ahma's passing, Baptism, UMADXI which got cancelled, applying for exchange and many other ups and downs. Cannot be more thankful for what God has given me. (':
Learning to cherish my family even more and to be thankful for the little things in life.
Looking forward to 2014 and it's another 364 days to go! Woohoo!
Exchange Peter and Andrew will be the biggest highlight of 2014 followed by exchange to Edinburgh (if I do go.. still can't quite accept the fact that I'm going cos it's not accepted by the partner uni yet!)!
Dear God, I pray that You will draw close to me as I draw close to you this year. I pray that I will seek to obey Your will and do deeds that glorify Your name. I live my life for You. Amen.

DAYS TO END OF HOLIDAYS

Another one of those days when you feel that life is full of hope and you just want to go out there and make a difference.
Are these thoughts merely dreams or are they waiting to be fulfilled?
